A villa perched high on the hill overlooking the town. To get there, take the road that winds along the coast, go through the wrought-iron gate, then follow the path between the fragrant hedges. The garden dotted with mimosa and iris bathes the front steps in intoxicating scents. On the outdoor table, a silk tablecloth, barely dry, dances to the beat of the wind. Past the imposing front door, the walls and stone columns are surprisingly cool all year round. A bouquet of mimosa sits majestically on the Travertine coffee table. Bags and shoes are cast aside before climbing the grand staircase. Bare feet sinking into the carpet covering the marble steps, hand skipping along the wooden handrail, thoughts already drifting to the cup of tea that awaits on the second-floor balcony…
